Why You Should Always Take a Hat When You Travel

Let’s face it: some people just don’t like wearing hats. If you’re one of those people, perhaps you can’t stand the way it ruffles up your hair. Or perhaps you don’t like the way it looks on you. Or perhaps you don’t find it to be really comfortable either. We totally get all that. However, here are a few reasons why we nevertheless believe you should bring a hat on your trip.

Sun Protection

We’ll start with the most obvious reason, and by far the most important. Hats protect you from the sun. When you’re out traveling to all kinds of exotic locations, you’ll need protection from that giant ball of flame in the sky. Even if it doesn’t seem like a sunny day, clouds can be deceiving, and a hat will serve you well on a long hike.

They Come In Handy

Hats can also be helpful in random ways you may not expect. For instance, they can be a useful “pouch” to store your various items when you hang out in your hotel room. You can leave all your valuables in there, and in case you have to leave quickly, it’s all there!

Identifying Features

If you’re traveling with a friend, wearing a hat will make it easier for you and your friend to find each other if you’ve lost each other. If you’re in a large crowd, a unique hat will go a long way to help you identify the other.
