Zion National Park is one of the best hiking spots in the United States. Found in Utah, the park features hikes ranging from a few hundred meters to about 40 kilometers or more. When selecting the hike that’s right for you, always consider your own physical abilities.

Observation Point

If you want to get a breathtaking view of the whole park, then the Observation Point hike is the one you have to do. The trail is quite strenuous as you have to hike all the way to the top of a cliff. A round trip along the 8-mile long trail should take about 4-6 hours. Bring lots of water for this one, as you don’t want to get dehydrated.

Angels Landing

This is the most well-trafficked hiking spot in the park. This is another physically demanding hike, as you must hike to the narrow ridge known as Angels Landing, and then with the assistance of a metal fence, hoist yourself to the very top. The trail is 5.4 miles long and can take up to 6 hours to complete.

The Subway

For the hiker that also likes a touch of canyoneering, this is the hike for you. Typically, you start at the beginning of the canyon and rappel yourself down the canyon into the water below. You will need to wade through the water as a part of the hike, which is why this is one you do in the summer months. The views are worth the cold dip. The trail is 10 miles long, and this is an all-day hike.
