We know you love your furry friends, and as much as you may love to travel as well, we also know how hard it can be to leave them behind. Our pets are family, and while bringing them along may require a bit of extra planning, it can also make traveling even more enjoyable. Some destinations are more pet-friendly than others–read on to learn more about which ones.

Asheville, North Carolina

Tucked away in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville stands out as a prime destination for pet-friendly travel. The city’s downtown area is home to a plethora of hotels, restaurants, and parks that are known to welcome four-legged friends, while the nearby Pisgah National Forest offers an idyllic backdrop for some outdoor bonding. Head to the park for an afternoon hike, then stop by Posana restaurant, where they take the term “doggie bag” to a new level with a special menu just for pups.

Sedona, Arizona

Playful pups and their adventurous owners are sure to have a good time in the red rock landscapes of Sedona. Just outside the city, numerous hiking trails of various levels provide the opportunity to get some exercise and fresh air before returning to one of its many pet-friendly hotels. We recommend the Sky Rock Inn, where they welcome both dogs and cats.

Portland, Oregon

Portland is well-known for its eclectic and down-to-earth culture, which contributes to an overall highly pet-friendly vibe. The city boasts plenty of parks with designated areas to let dogs off the leash, and many local businesses cater to pets as well. Be sure to stop by Bring! Treats for Dogs for some homemade goodies.
