Summer is creeping up on us, and if you live somewhere that gets really hot, you may not want to visit somewhere that’s also hot in the summer. If you’re someone who needs a break from the heat, visit these cities.
Vigo, Spain
Vigo is the largest city in the Galicia region of Spain, and the summer there is perfect. The temperature in June and July only get into the high 70s, and at night it’s only in the high 50s to low 60s. The best part about Vigo is that it’s on the ocean, and you have access to a ton of beautiful beaches and hiking.
Birmingham, England
If you really want to be in a cold place, go to Birmingham, which is one of the coldest places in the world during the summer. All summer long, you probably won’t have a day that’s much warmer than the mid 60s, and it rains so often that it’ll probably be colder than that. The city itself is really cool and has a lot of interesting architecture and a raging club scene.
Reykjavik, Iceland
This stunning capital has amazing landscapes, culture, and is pretty constantly cold. Even in August, which is the warmest month of the year, the temperature will still only be in the 50s, so you don’t have to worry about ever breaking a sweat!
