The northernmost country in Africa situated on the Mediterranean coast, Tunisia is a beautiful, sun-drenched country located surprisingly close to Europe. Full of history, beaches, and tantalizing sights, sounds, smells, and flavors, Tunisia is incredibly enticing for tourists. Here are just a few of the reasons why.

The Food

A unique combination of Arabic, Mediterranean, and French influences, Tunisian cuisine is something you simply have to try, with lots of slow-cooked meats, couscous, and spices to make your palate sing. You’ll also have to try Brik, a thin, deep-fried pastry filled with eggs, chopped onion, tuna, harissa, and parsley.

The Beaches

One of the things Tunisia is most known for is its beaches, with resorts all over the country in locations like Bizerte, Sousse, Kelibia, Monastir, Djerba, and Hammamet all offering a high standard of accommodation and even some exciting activities like parachuting, scuba diving, and jet-skiing.

The Desert

Tunisia is also a great place from which to explore the Sahara desert, with breathtaking sites you can arrive at on a jeep, camel, or donkey. Plus, fun fact: this is where Star Wars was filmed!
