The vast area of Western Australia is home to just over 2 million people, most of them in and around the city of Perth. And as Western Australia is the least visited place in the continent, mainly due to the great distance between it and the populated East, it’s a great place to visit if you want to get away from the crowds and start a true adventure.

The fastest way to get to Perth, the state capital and one of the most isolated cities in the world, is by a five-hour flight from Sydney or Melbourne. If you have time, you can take the Indian Pacific train that connects Sydney to Perth—a trip that lasts three full days!

About half an hour drive north of Perth is Swan Valley, the wine region of Western Australia. North of Swan Valley, is the Nambung Reserve, which has one of the most unique sights in the entire continent, a vast desert with thousands of pillars of limestone towering over the sandy ground.

It is also recommended to visit the Karijini National Park, where you will find deep canyons, hidden water pools, and huge waterfalls.

Throughout the journey in Western Australia, you will be accompanied by the feeling that you are traveling in unknown territory and it’s definitely worth the trip.
