Top 5 Most Instagrammed National Parks in the World

National parks have it all—luscious scenery, hiking trails, and natural wonders. The following parks are so picturesque that people can’t stop taking photos and sharing them on Instagram. And with many restrictions still in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, most national parks are open and they’re a great escape. In July 2020, Mainland Aggregates looked into which parks had the most mentions on Instagram and these were the top five.

The Grand Canyon, United States

With 3,648,494 mentions, the most Instagrammed national park is the Grand Canyon in the United States. Located in Arizona, the Grand Canyon is best-known for its layered bands of red rocks that tell the geological history of millions of years.

Yosemite National Park, United States

Yosemite National Park in California has 2,897,973 mentions on Instagram. The best parts are the giant sequoia trees and Tunnel View, the iconic view of El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall rising from Yosemite Valley. 

Lake District National Park, United Kingdom

This national park in the UK received 2,571,048 mentions and it’s known for its glacial ribbon lakes, mountains, and historic literacy associations.

Banff National Park, Canada

Banff National Park in Canada received 2,410,547 mentions and you won’t want to miss the lake views and the mountains. Who knows, you make even see a bear.

Yellowstone National Park, home of the Old Faithful, comes in at number five with 1,399,905 mentions. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho and has canyons, alpine rivers, forests, hot springs, and geysers.
