Over the past few decades, the popularity of tourism has only been increasing and it doesn’t intend to stop any time soon. More and more people want to visit major tourist locations and we’re now facing some consequences we didn’t think about before.

One of the biggest factors of the sudden rise of traveling popularity is Instagram and other social platforms that allow people to share their trips and to gain followers through those experiences. Suddenly, everyone wants to have a photo in front of the Eiffel Tower or in front of the Taj Mahal or at the Louvre. And no matter how many times we’ve seen the photos before, the new angles and new people in front of these sights always leave us wanting more and wanting to visit those places ourselves. Additionally, we’re seeing the rise of low-cost airlines and cheap accommodations that allow billions of people to afford traveling around the world.

This can be a real problem since those and many more sites are today overcrowded with people at any given moment. To see what other problems tourism causes, watch the video below.
