Paris is widely known by its nickname “City of Love”, so it’s not surprising that it’s one of the most popular Valentine’s Day destinations in the world. If you decide to pay it a visit during this holiday, make sure to check out the “I Love You” wall.
This isn’t one of the most popular tourist spots in this city, but if you can pick a day when you’re going to go there, February 14th is the best possible choice. You can visit it free of charge, just make sure to check opening hours because they vary according to the season.
Frédéric Baron and Claire Kito were in charge of creating this unique piece of art, which consists of the phrase “I love you”, featured 311 times in 250 languages. This wall has been around since 2000, and the artists first started collecting the words of love in different languages by asking their foreign neighbors for help.
This wall now stands as a constant reminder of the way love brings us all together, no matter which language we’re speaking. Couples take photos in front of it on a regular basis, but so do people who are there on their own, sending powerful message about the importance of self-love.
