Despite its dark history plagued with unrest and poverty, Beirut, one of the oldest cities in the world, is an amazing place with many interesting spots to visit. If you ever find yourself in the Lebanese capital, make sure to visit these three tourist attractions.

Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque

After many decades of construction, Beirut’s Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque was finally inaugurated in 2008. The mosque was built in Ottoman style and covers around 11,000 square meters. Its most recognizable feature is the striking 48-meter-high blue dome.

Raouche Rocks

If you’re a nature lover visiting Beirut, this is the place to be. Also known as the Pigeons’ Rock, two gigantic rock formations located on the coast of the Raouché neighborhood are surrounded by a picturesque seaside backdrop, and that’s what makes them one of Beirut’s top tourist spots.

Gouraud

If you’re a fan of all things retro, you’ll feel right at home while exploring this street in the Gemmayzeh neighborhood. It’s filled with many trendy bars, pubs, cafés, and restaurants that will make you see Beirut in a whole new light.
