The One Thing You Need for a Long Backpacking Trip that You Cannot Pack

Most times, when people decide to take a few months to travel, they are smart about it. They do their research, they pack well, and they let their family and friends know of their plans just in case, whether or not they’re traveling with someone else.

However, a lot of young people forget there is one extra thing you need to purchase, especially for a long trip: travel insurance.

Most people don’t think about having travel insurance because you never think you’re going to get sick while you’re traveling. Or hurt. Or into any sort of accident. But, whether you’re traversing mountains or just hopping from city to city, it’s really important to get travel insurance so you know you can be safe while you travel.

Travel insurance ensures that if you need to see a doctor, go to the hospital, or take an ambulance, you don’t have to pay through the nose for it.

Some places like in northern Europe will already be cheap to see a doctor without insurance, sometimes as little as 20 dollars. However, it’s still a better idea to get some before you leave since it usually only comes out to be a few dollars a day. Especially for long trips, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
