If You Need Eco-Travel Inspiration, Follow @amandabaker4

Amanda Baker is a Canadian girl who travels the world all while being as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible.

What’s so refreshing about her Instagram account is that it not only has beautifully taken photos of really interesting and sometimes out-there places, but Amanda is really honest on her account.

Often travel accounts can make travel seem like an easy, go-with-the-flow kind of experience, but Amanda never shies away from the truth.

Happy Earth Day from these happy little furry dudes ❤️🌎❤️🌎❤️For once nature has taken over human and the monkeys will not give up their claim to the thermal spas. (Can't say I wasn't jealous of their jacuzzi parties or mass cuddle puddles.) For a special little challenge I really encourage every single one of you to do your best in helping out the planet and ALL of its amazing species it is home to. Little things like saying no to straws, using a reusable water bottle or thermos, and saying FUCK NO to plastic bags. Maybe challenge yourself to stop eating beef and switch to chicken or veggie options? 💪 I don't know about you but I love the rainforest and animals and don't really want to see that disappear. 7 billion of us on earth and on average humans use 10-30 single-use plastic items a day. So minimally around 70 billion pieces of plastic waste and only a low 9% of those get properly recycled. Now for those that really don't understand and tell themselves "this isn't my problem". If 90% of that waste is going into the lakes, rivers and oceans… what do you think happens to it all? 🛢–> 🐠🦐🐟–>🍲🍣—> 🙅🏽‍♂️🙅🏼 if the fish are eating our garbage and we are eating the fish… yeah we're eating our own trash. Mmm. Only we can make changes for the better, and it starts with YOU today 💪🌎❤️🤗 #zerowastegoals #lowimpactliving #becauseiwouldnotliketodieinthenexticeage #andnowecantmovetomars #earthday2018 #bethechange #japan #jigokudanimonkeypark #itsarealplace #😍😍😍 #everydayisearthday

Amanda is a huge nature lover, and you can tell by her account that while she loves cities, her heart belongs in nature. Her adoration of nature and animals naturally lends itself to being anti-plastic and anti-trash, of which she picks up a lot of during her travels.

Amanda has been to many corners of the world. From the well known, major European countries, to the same, unheard of places, and across multiple continents, it’s amazing to see all the places one girl can go and who she meets along the way, and she normally always does.

From snowboarding in Japan to watching the FIFA world cup in Russia, to climbing too many mountains to count from her pictures, @amandabaker4 is definitely worth a spot on your Instagram feed.

I freaking LOVE this planet 🌍⁣ ⁣ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~⁣ ⁣ I wanted to share some of my "wildest" travel photos. Showing the intensity and stunning beauty of the natural world. ⁣ ⁣ I cried on this hike. About 4 hours in, the wind picked up, it was raining buckets, and the muddy path turned into a muddy river that was impossible to hold on. ⁣ ⁣ After leaving my dad behind on one of the ridges, I joined two guys that were in Hawaii for military training. We were determined to get to the top. ⁣ ⁣ It was so windy and so rainy and we were crawling up a narrow path, completely submerged in muddy water, holding onto grass and roots for dear life. ⁣ ⁣ There was one point when I had both arms elbow deep in mud to "stick" to the ground and the three of us got smacked by such a strong gust of wind, we were almost blown off the mountain. The path was less than a foot wide, with sheer drops on either side. I'm terrified of falling from heights, and this was my worst nightmare. ⁣ ⁣ But we made it. It took all day and all of our physical and mental energy. I now COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS ILLEGAL AND WILL NEVER ATTEMPT IT AGAIN. (No matter how stunning it was).⁣ ⁣ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~⁣ ⁣ But how beautiful are those forests? Those incredible, luminous greens can only be found in nature. To breathe pure, fresh oxygen and witness the landscape from a bird's eve view? It is all we need on this planet, and something I intend to preserve until the day I die. (Hopefully not while hiking haha) ⁣ ⁣ #happyearthday #earthday2019⁣ #nature #ecofriendly #green #sustainability #climatechange #thereisnoplanetb #ecome #getoutside #getsomeoxygen #travel #live #hike #preserveournaturalworld #plantsometrees #zerowastegoals #cutoutplastic #reduse #reuse #recycle #plant #innovate #create #environment #itisallweneed ⁣#stairwaytoheaven #hawaii #morelikehell #butthatview
