The Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is made of two pyramid-shaped buildings and it covers an area of 20,500 square meters. The main building is divided into three floors: the third floor, the second floor and the basement; each with different exhibition zones such as the China Zone, South America Zone, Australia Zone, Africa Zone, Southeast Asia Zone, Cold Water Zone, Polar Zone, Sea and Shore, Deep Ocean Zone and some Special Exhibitions.

There are more than 15,000 water creatures and rare fishes in the China Zone, which is the only one in the world has aquatic organisms that are under national protection. However, maybe the most interesting thing in the whole aquarium is the underwater escalator that brings you down to the basement where the Deep Ocean Zone is located. While you are slowly getting down you can enjoy the amazing sharks, turtles, jellyfish, all around you.
