Melbourne comes with a long list of amazing attractions you can explore during your visit, and some of them happen to be located just outside of the city. Phillip Island is one of the best day-trip destinations in its close proximity, and here’s a couple of reasons why you should consider paying it a visit.

Penguin Parade

Phillip Island is best known for the colony of the little penguins living on its shores, and it’s a delight to watch them walk on the beach at sunset.

Exploring Wildlife

The Penguin Parade is the main attraction of the Phillip Island Nature Park, but it’s not the only one. You can see many other animals in their natural habitat, roaming free around the park, including koalas and kangaroos.

The Nobbies Center

The Nobbies Centre is another great place to observe little penguins, but it also offers beautiful views at Australia’s largest colony of fur seals, Seal Rocks. A scenic boardwalk and an Antarctic museum are also located on the premises.

Surfing Paradise

Phillip Island is home to many beautiful beaches, but they offer more than a relaxing day of sunbathing. This island offers some of the best surfing conditions in all of Australia, and it’s extremely popular with fans of this water sport.
