Perth is, without a doubt, one of the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest up-and-coming cities. This west coast Australia metropolis, located in an area with an ideal climate for enjoying the city’s urban green spaces and beaches, has something for everyone.

If you find yourself in Perth and want to escape from the day-to-day chaos and buzz of the city of over 2 million inhabitants, be sure to visit these world-class urban parks.

Kings Park and the Botanic Garden

Western Australia’s most-visited tourist destination is this stunning urban park located on the hill of Mount Eliza just outside of the city. Here, you will find a protected bushland space as well as a botanical garden, walking and running trails, and a solemn memorial to Western Australian soldiers that perished in World War I and II.

Sir James Mitchell Park

Looking to disconnect in Perth just outside of the city center? Located across the Swan River from the downtown area is Sir James Mitchell Park, a flat, urban green space with ample space for walking, running, and picnicking.

Langley Park

On the other side of the river from Sir James Mitchell Park is another riverside green space which, while a bit smaller, offers those in downtown a mini urban retreat for enjoying the serenity of the bank of the Swan River.
