How To Plan A Spring Vacation

Are you tempted to get away but feel like you should wait until summer is here with its warmer weather and longer days? A spring vacation can be just as enjoyable as one taken in the summer, if not more so as there will generally be fewer tourists around and in destinations with hot climates, the weather will be milder and easier to handle. Here are three tips on how to plan the most relaxing, enjoyable vacation this spring.

Choose Your Destination

A city break can work well in the spring, as generally the streets of popular destinations such as Paris, London, and Rome are less crowded than later on in the year. You should be able to find cheaper rates for hotels and accommodation, so select a central location as this will enable you to make the most of the city in the shorter spring days. Opt for a city with plenty of indoor attractions, such as museums, art galleries and restaurants, as this will enable you to escape any spring showers that might fall.

Think Local

Spring can be a good season in which to have a staycation and explore some of the destinations a little more local to you. The days are not as long as in summer, but getting away to a countryside location to see the blooming flowers and unfurling leaves on the trees can be a great way to reset and refresh after winter.

Pack Light

Part of the joy of a spring vacation is that it can feel more impulsive, relaxed and easy than a summer one. Whilst you’ll want to make sure you have a good raincoat and some warm clothes for those cooler days, don’t feel like you need to bring an entire suitcase with you. Plan well and pack light, so that you can enjoy experiencing a new city, relaxing in the countryside or taking in a new country without worrying about all of your stuff.
