Most of us think about the same places when we consider traveling to Europe – London, Paris, Berlin, Rome… But the European continent is so much more than just a list of capital cities and there’s so much more to be seen in more overlooked places.

Let’s check out some of these cities, in case you want to go on an unusual adventure through Europe!

Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg has a small population of about 150 thousand people, which means you can fully explore it in just a few days. The city is home to the birthplace of Mozart and its Old Town, which is a UNESCO heritage site.

The city has eye-catching Baroque architecture and beautiful lakes and rivers which is why it’s generally considered one of the prettiest places in Central Europe – and that means something, considering how many absolutely stunning places there are in the region!

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Ljubljana is the capital city of Slovenia and it has a population of about 280 thousand people. The notable part? Slovenia was recently declared the cleanest country in the world and it has one of the happiest populations as well, making the energy of the country incredibly positive! The best places to see in this city include the beautiful Ljubljanica River, Metelkova and Ljubljana Castle.
