You might think that the whole of Europe gets covered in snow during winter, but that is not entirely true. There are plenty of destinations you can travel to and find warm weather and have a great time. Check out some of them below.

Azores, Portugal

Visiting the Azores, a Portuguese archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, is always a good idea, including the winter months. While most of Europe is dealing with low temperatures in December or January, the Azores have pleasant temperatures and lots of sunshine. Besides its scenic beaches, the Azores are also known for stunning waterfalls and natural hot springs.

Limassol, Cyprus

There can be a bit of rain in Limassol, Cyprus, in winter months, but most of the time, the city baths in the sun. It is a great European destination to visit during winter as it isn’t too cold to hit the beaches, while there are plenty of other tourist attractions to check out, including cultural and historical sites.

Canary Islands, Spain

For a real tropical experience during winter, head to the Canary Islands. Despite being closer to Africa, this group of Spanish islands is still considered Europe, so it fits perfectly into what we need. The best islands to settle on during winter are Gran Canaria and Lanzarote since the temperatures here can go up to 80F in December. As a bonus, these islands also offer a lot of cultural attractions to keep you entertained.
