Love to climb but aren’t quite ready to tackle Kilimanjaro? No problem. These routes are all manageable if you are reasonably fit and moderately experienced. Although the climbs are still tough, the rewards far outweigh the effort it takes to get to the top.

Mount Whitney (Nevada, U.S.)

Mount Whitney is the highest peak in mainland United States. The climb is tough, but doable for amateur climbers who are taking a step towards becoming mountaineers.

Mount Kinabalu (Borneo)

The climb will take about two days and offers incredible jungle views. The temperature drastically plummets at sunset, so don’t be fooled by the hot jungle afternoon air.

Makalu Base Camp (Himalayas)

The trek takes you through Makalu Barun National Park where you will experience the beauties of the Himalayas. You will be able to look at mount Everest and take in remarkable views without having to take on Everest.
