3 Splendid Islands You Should Check Out in Uruguay

Uruguay is known for its beautiful beaches and wine regions, but have you ever heard of islands that can be found off its coast? If your answer is “no”, buckle up and get ready to learn a thing or two about the most beautiful islands in this Latin American country.

Isla de Flores

Despite what its name might suggest, flowers aren’t the biggest attraction on this tiny island off the coast of Montevideo. Isla de Flores will draw you in with its historic lighthouse and ruins, which serves as the backdrop for most pictures taken here.

Gorriti Island

Due to its close proximity to the shores of Punta del Este, Gorriti Island is a popular day-trip destination with tourists visiting this city. You can reach it in just half an hour by ferry and its beautiful, pristine beaches make it worth the trip.

Isla de Lobos

Another island near Punta del Este is even more impressive than the previous ones. If you don’t feel like taking a trip for beautiful beaches alone, Isla de Lobos also has a historic lighthouse and a colony of sea lions and fur seals in store.
