While it’s usually Tokyo’s outdoor theme parks like Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Nikko Edomura that get all of the buzz, the city has some amazing indoor amusement parks as well. Whether it’s too cold outside in the winter or you’re trying to beat the heat in the summer, indoor amusement parks shouldn’t be missed. Not only do they have great rides, but Tokyo’s indoor theme parks also have tons of culture and unique characters. Here are three you shouldn’t miss on your vacation.

Joypolis

Joypolis, located in Odaiba, Tokyo, is full of three flours and 21 Sega rides and activities. There’s rafting, hang-glider flying, laser guns, and fighting zombies.

Legoland Discovery Center

Tokyo’s Legoland has two great rides, a Lego factory, a diorama of Tokyo built of Legos, a film at the 4D cinema, obstacle courses, and a Lego T-Rex.

Sanrio Puroland

If you’re a Hello Kitty and friends fans have to visit Sanrio Puroland, which is home to the anime character. Visit Hello Kitty’s mansion, take photos with her, and see a kabuki-style Hello Kitty musical. Gudetama fans can enjoy bowling, dancing games, and other activities. There are also four on-site restaurants that have character themed meals like Hello Kitty curry, My Melody dessert cups, and a Gudetama roast beef rice bowl.
