Public pools are a perfect way to cool down during the hot summer days. There are so many different pools around the world, but these three are our favorites when it comes to Europe.

Der Spiegel Publishing House, Germany

Located in Hamburg, Germany, the pool at the Der Spiegel’s Hamburg publishing house was designed by Verner Panton in 1969. The whole building follows his wonderful design style. Unfortunately, the fire ruined Panton’s work in the pool area which was later renovated.

Tinside Lido, UK

Tinside Lido in Plymouth, UK was first opened in 1935. It overlooks the Plymouth Sound and features a beautiful pool that hosts numerous visitors year after year. It was closed from 1992 until 2005 when it reopened after refurbishing.

Leça Da Palmeira, Portugal

Leça Da Palmeira is a complex of rock pools near Porto, Portugal. It was one of the first projects of famous architect Álvaro Siza in the ’60s. Today, it’s a place that attracts tourists who want to take a break from exploring Porto and experience this wonderful, unique pool complex.
