It’s a sad but true fact that the whole flying experience is a hassle, what with driving through traffic to the airport, dealing with check-in and security, plus functional delays with boarding and deplaning. Add on top of that a delayed flight, and you’re looking at a less-than-perfect day, no matter your destination.

Travel intelligence firm OAG just aggregated data from 57 million flights in 2017, coming up with a list of the world’s top five most punctual airlines. Also worth noting is that six of the top 20 airlines on this list are LCCs, or low-cost carriers, which means you truly are getting the bang for your buck.

Without further ado, here are the top five airlines that boast high rates of timeliness to takeoff:

1. airBaltic (Latvia)

The airline "Air Baltic" was the most punctual airline on the planet. As follows from the data presented by the British company "OAG" at the end of 2017, the Latvian airline "Air Baltic" was the most punctual company in the world. According to available information, the vast majority of flights of the company "Air Baltic" (90,1% – approx. ed.) was completed without any delay, which indicates a quite qualitative approach of the carrier to implement its activities. As for the three best, in addition to the airline "Air Baltic", in the list of the most punctual airlines in the world were also operators such as "Hong Kong Airlines" and "Hawaiian Airlines", performed according to the schedule 88,83% 87,24% of flights, respectively. Russian airlines, according to "OAG" could not get even in the TOP 20 ranking, which indicates the need to improve. #AirBaltic
