While it may have been launched in 2018, the high-speed Brightline train has now begun to make waves as the solution to Florida’s traffic congestion. Aside from work commutes, however, this train is ideal for tourists hoping to explore everything that the State of Florida has to offer, from the theme parks in Orlando to the beaches and nightlife in Miami. Here’s why you should embark on the Brightline Train the next time you’re in Florida.

Originally travelling between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, the Brightline train opened up to a whole host of new destinations ever since, including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Aventura. In fact, this line is so efficient that you can travel all the way from Orlando to Miami in just three hours. By car, this journey can take over four hours with traffic.

“We’re not really used to trains [in Florida], but for a lot of the rest of the world, it’s second nature to catch trains,” Dr. Stephen Pratt of the University of Central Florida explained. It therefore comes as little surprise that according to Orlando’s tourism board, the city welcomed 6.12 million international tourists in 2023, a 25% increase from the previous year, thanks to its improved transportation system and easy accessibility.
