Union Square is One of the Most Exciting Places in New York City

When people think of New York, they think about the Empire State Building, Times Square, and maybe Fifth Avenue. But, there are so many great places to go to in New York City and most aren’t as known to people who don’t live there. Union Square is one of those places, and it’s a shame because it’s so worth seeing!

Union Square is located near many of the NYU campuses in the downtown part of New York. The square itself is very lush and green but has a lot of space for people to organize protests, which happens often, and for there to be many kinds of markets! In the wintertime, there is the Holiday Market, where there are tons of artisans selling gorgeous items, and yummy food stalls. And, all year long, you can visit the farmers’ market called the Greenmarket which takes place Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8:00 am-6:00 pm!

Besides the actual square, there a lot of things happening around it on the side streets. The famous Strand Bookstore is right off the square, as well as the well known Union Square Cafe! So if you want an authentic New York experience, you have to check out Union Square.
