Städel Museum
Städel covers approximately 4,000 square meters and it’s home to one of the most important art collections in Germany. It houses prominent European art dating from the Middle Ages to the present, and its collection includes around 3,100 paintings, 660 sculptures, and over 100,000 drawings and prints.
Museum of Modern Art
Museum für Moderne Kunst aka MMK is home to an impressive collection of around 4,500 works of international art, dating from the 1960s to the present day. It’s housed inside an eye-catching postmodern building, known by the nickname “piece of cake” due to its triangular shape.
Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt
Located inside one of Frankfurt’s most stunning buildings, Schirn Kunsthalle is dedicated to housing exhibits of modern and contemporary art. Since opening its doors in 1986, it grew into the city’s main venue for temporary art exhibitions and featured exhibitions dedicated to such artists as Wassily Kandinsky and Frida Kahlo.
