Traveling by boat or cruise can be an exciting and adventurous experience, for a lot of reasons. But for some people, it can also be accompanied by seasickness or nausea. If you’re prone to motion sickness, here are three helpful tips to avoid feeling queasy during your waterborne adventures.

Choose Your Seat Wisely

When on a boat or cruise, the location of your seat can make a big difference. Opt for a cabin or stateroom in the middle of the ship and on a lower deck. These areas experience less movement and are more stable, reducing the risk of seasickness. Additionally, try to focus on the horizon or an unmoving point on land to help your body orient itself and counteract the feeling of motion.

Stay Hydrated

Dehydration can worsen nausea, so it’s essential to drink plenty of water while on board. Avoid heavy, greasy, or spicy foods that may trigger queasiness. Instead, choose light, bland snacks like crackers, ginger candies, or bananas, which are known to have anti-nausea properties.

Seek Fresh Air
