If you have a portable charger, you definitely need to bring it with you when you travel. Especially if you’re in a big city and you’re planning to be out all day and into the night, your phone is likely going to die. Conversely, if you don’t have one bring along your regular charger with you and ask coffee shops or restaurants you visit if you can charge it there.
Medicine
Although you can always pick up medicine when you need it, it’s better to carry around some pain relievers or stomach medicine so you don’t have to waste time and money buying them when you need them.

Especially if you’re going to be staying in a hostel situation where there will be people and sounds all around you, bring along some ear plugs. Even if you’re staying in a hotel or apartment, there might be a noisy street outside and sleep is key!
