São Paulo Cathedral
São Paulo’s largest and most imposing Catholic church started getting built in 1913 and it took decades before its doors were opened. The building itself was designed in the Gothic revival style, but its Renaissance-style dome stands out because it was meant to resemble the Cathedral of Florence.
Ipiranga Museum
Also known as Paulista Museum, this cultural institution was built at the turn of the 20th century, in the place where Brazilian independence was proclaimed. It’s one of the best examples of Eclectic architecture in São Paulo, and its design was inspired by the Palace of Versailles.
Municipal Market of São Paulo
Another great example of eclectic architecture, the city’s most popular market is housed in a mesmerizing historic building. If its classic columns, vaults, and façade don’t take your breath away, the beautiful stained glass decorations on its windows certainly will.
