BlaBlaCar is a service that allows you to share a car with a driver and other passengers, often offering up great opportunities to travel for cheap between two places that might not have a great plane or train service. So far, the service works in several European and Latin American countries, yet it is still not operating in the U.S.

The motor which drives this service, both literally and figuratively, are the drivers who offer up themselves and their vehicles to potential passengers. However, you should be careful to look at the driver’s rating in order to ensure that previous passengers have been satisfied with their rides with them.
Route Flexibility
If you are frustrated and unable to find a BlaBlaCar trip for a certain route, the key might be to find a route that includes at least one of your destination/arrival cities on its route. Many drivers are willing to make a stop in other cities if they are on another route.
Times of the Day
One of the advantages of BlaBlaCar is that it often offers rides at non-peak times that end up being cheaper than peak routes. If you are willing to be flexible with your departure and/or arrival time, you can end up saving a lot of money.
