Myanmar attracts far fewer tourists than Thailand or Cambodia and yet it contains some of the most stunning and special spots in Southeast Asia. Here are some that we have on our bucket list.
Keng Tawng Falls
Keng Tawng Falls is very remote but it is worth the visit. The falls are beautiful and are currently an unnoticed spot among tourists.
Inle Lake
The floating gardens of Inle Lake are a must-see for first-time visitors in Myanmar. The stilted houses and floating gardens are incredibly picturesque and intriguing.
Mrauk U
Mrauk U is a gorgeous temple which is accessible from Sittwe. The ancient pagodas are breathtaking at dusk when they poke through the morning mist.
Saddan Cave
Saddan Cave contains impressive stalactites which draw in cavers. The caves open up to Hpa-An’s hidden lake, which is breathtaking.
The Shwedagon Pagoda
And of course, we must not forget to mention the Shwedagon Pagoda. It is beautiful at any time but when the sun lowers and the lights come on, it is superb.
