The Best Space Themed Museums In The U.S. To Celebrate The 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing

Are you a bit of a space buff? If so, you’ve probably already heard of most of these museums, which are renowned for their fantastic space exhibitions. Still, here’s the list of the most popular and spectacular space museums in the United States.

National Air and Space Museum (Washington DC)

This is the most visited museum in the world. Exhibits feature aerial vehicles, space capsules and Albert Einstein Planetarium. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Neil Armstrong’s spacesuit is now on display for the first time in 13 years.

Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum (New York)

New York City’s space museum contains the Space Shuttle Enterprise and allows visitors to explore the Growler submarine.

Space Center Houston (Houston, Texas)

Space Center Houston contains an impressive array of exhibits, including  an Astronaut Gallery, which contains the world’s largest collection of spacesuits.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (Orlando, Florida)

In Orlando, you can visit Space Shuttle Atlantis. You can also experience what it is like to head into space via the shuttle launch experience simulator.

U.S. Space and Rocket Center (Huntsville, Alabama)

Huntsville is the location of the first ever Space Camp. You can still visit the campus to tour its rocket garden and many artifacts from the Space Race back in the 1960s. You can still take part in space camp there today.
