The Best Place For Surfing In Panama

Panama is an ideal country to visit if you enjoy surfing. Here are some of the top spots for stunning beaches, a great atmosphere and most importantly – catching some waves.

Playa Venao

Playa Venao is located in the Azuero Peninsula, which is a five-hour drive from the capital. The beach hosts huge surfing competitions and is known for its epic parties.

Panama Bay

You don’t need to stray far from the capital to catch some waves. Panama Bay is made up of many beaches that offer surfing for amateur and expert surfers alike.

Santa Catalina

Santa Catalina is nearby the National Park of Isla Coiba. The surrounding beaches are truly spectacular.

Coiba is the largest island in Central America and one of the best dive sites in the world. It is technically connected underwater by the same mountain chain to the Galapagos Islands. Its unique location protects it from El Niño weather and also has the Indo-Pacific current upwelling deep ocean water minerials, making it one of the most biodiverse and rich marine areas in the world. Morro Negrito

Morro Negrito has a reputation for being one of the most famous surf destinations in Central America. The surf spot is surrounded by gorgeous nature and wildlife.

Isla Grande

Isla Grande is near Panama City and is reachable by boat. The islands are lush but the waves are really only suitable for advanced surfers.
