Georgia is a country that technically belongs to Asia by location, but Georgians have always felt like Europeans and the people typically refer to the country as European. Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, is an exciting city that more and more people are visiting. In both 2018 and 2019, the city has broken a record for the number of visitors.

In 2018, Tbilisi was visited by 3.6 million people, and that number grew in 2019 by a significant percentage. There were 15.7% more tourists in Tbilisi in the first 9 months of 2019 than in the whole of 2018. Needless to say, the city has big plans for 2020, as they expect to grow that number even more.

The city invested 4 million euros in creating a spectacular New Year light show in order to attract more tourists to celebrate the holidays there. Most of the tourists come to Tbilisi from European countries like Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, England, and Denmark, among others.

Have you considered visiting Tbilisi so far? Perhaps 2020 is the year when you’ll discover this amazing city.
