Taking a Warm Spring Training Vacation

Spring means one thing for baseball fans: the start of a new season. The smell of fresh-cut grass and hotdogs fill the park. The sound of the ball popping in leather gloves and the crack of the bats means that another year of America’s pastime has started.

Opening day is usually around April 1, but if you just can’t wait to experience some baseball then head down to sunny Florida or Arizona for great weather and spring training. Fifteen teams have facilities all over Florida in the Grapefruit League, while the other fifteen call the hot desert of Arizona their home in the Cactus League.

If you want to combine baseball with a trip to Disney Land then you can see the Houston Astros or Atlanta Braves practice and play right outside of Orlando. If you want to spend more time on the beach then you can see 3 teams play near the Tampa Bay area, or in beautiful beach towns such as Bradenton and Clearwater.

Down in Arizona, multiple teams play near Scottsdale, Mesa, and Glendale, all beautiful cities with lots of amenities and sunny weather. Spring training is a great time to see your favorite players in a smaller, family-friendly environment, where the sun always shines and the sounds of baseball are back!
