Kenya’s natural beauty knows no bounds, and Amboseli National Park is one of the best places to explore it to the fullest. Safely tucked away near the Tanzanian border, this natural area is known for its abundant wildlife, and here are a few reasons why you should put it on your bucket list.

Local Villages

Amboseli is one of the best places in Kenya to visit the members of the Maasai community living in local villages. They’re best known for their traditional customs, dances, and clothing, which haven’t been affected by Africa’s modernization.

Amazing Wildlife

Most people visiting this national park are there to explore its wildlife. This area is known for being home to free-ranging elephants and it offers one the best wildlife-viewing experiences in the world, where you’ll come face to face with giraffes, zebras, and many other animals.

Bird Watching

Passionate bird watchers will also feel right at home in Amboseli. This national park is home to 400 species of birds ranging from pelicans and crakes to dozens of different raptor species.

Beautiful Views

It’s pretty much impossible to take a photo of Amboseli without getting Mount Kilimanjaro in the frame, and the beautiful views at this mountain are one of the main reasons why people visit it in the first place.

As we all begin to think about what travel plans we can make after the COVID-19 pandemic ends, many of you are probably considering a big trip after being stuck at home for so long.

African safaris are a great option for this start of travel, but you might not know where to start out when planning to go on one. As a starting point, these are three countries with excellent safari options that I recommend that you consider.

Kenya

Often considered to be “the birthplace of safari travel,” Kenya is a classic pick for African exploration and one of the best options out there. The Masai Mara National Park, the home of lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos, among other animals, is the most popular region to explore.

Tanzania

There is no shortage of natural areas with wildlife to explore in Tanzania, as the western half of the country is full of game reserves and reserves like the Serengeti National Park. You will be amazed at the herds of animals like wildebeests and rhinos that can be seen here.

Botswana

South Africa, Botswana’s neighbor to the south, might be more famous for safaris, but this smaller country might be an even better option. Giraffes and hyenas abound in places like the Kalahari Game Reserve, a natural, dry grassland with normally pleasant weather and great sightlines.

Located in the heart of East Africa is the country of Kenya, one of the most fascinating countries to visit in the continent.

Visitors in Kenya have a wealth of options of things to do, with both cultural and natural experiences in abundance in this country of nearly 50 million people.

Let’s take a look at the four must-do things for any visitor to Kenya.

Experience Nairobi

Kenya’s capital of over 3 million residents is a cultural hub in East Africa and has a wealth of options for all visitors. See how international influences blend with the traditional Maasai culture of the people of Kenya in this traditional yet cosmopolitan city.

Marvel at Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park is located on the border between Kenya and Tanzania. From the park, one can marvel at the views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which is located in Tanzania just outside of the park. It is also regarded as one of Africa’s best places to see animals such as elephants and birds of prey.

Visit the Kenyan Coasts’ Beaches

Many people don’t realize that Kenya also has a stunning coastline on the Indian Ocean. Visitors to Kenya that have the opportunity to travel to the southeast portion of the country will have the chance to relax at beaches that boast white sand and crystal blue water.

Go on a Safari in Tsavo East National Park

The other national park that’s a must-see in Kenya is Tsavo East. This park has the feel of a classic African savanna, and it’s strongly encouraged for visitors to take part in a safari during their visit in order to see the park’s abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and elephants.

Imagine enjoying breakfast at your hotel and having a giraffe poke its long neck through a window, looking for a snack. Well, that’s exactly the kind of experience you can get at the Giraffe Manor, Kenya’s one and only hotel of this kind.

Giraffe Manor was established in 1932 and served as a giraffe sanctuary before being transformed into a hotel during the ‘80s. It serves as a home to endangered Rothschild’s giraffes, who interact with visitors on a daily basis – especially during breakfast hours!

Since it’s common to have these gentle giants stretching their long necks through large windows of Giraffe Manor, each room comes stocked with giraffe food so you can treat them to a morning snack. This property comes with a total of 12 rooms set across 12 acres of private land in close proximity to Nairobi.

Thanks to its unique appeal, Giraffe Manor attracted many celebrity guests over the years, but booking one of the rooms will set you back by hundreds of bucks. Those fortunate enough to stay here swear it’s worth every penny because it will get you in touch with nature like no other hotel in the world.

Tiwi

Tiwi beach is actually neighbors with Diani beach but is a lot more relaxed since there is only one resort and no restaurants and shops to visit. While this might be a negative for some people, it creates a completely serene atmosphere that some people might need for a true total relaxation vacation. Also, Tiwi beach has some of the best snorkeling in the country and some say in the world, as you can basically touch the coral reefs just by walking along the beach- so imagine what it’s like with a mask on right up close!

Despite featuring unique and intriguing features, African architectural styles are unfortunately overlooked in society. Visitors to Africa, however, have undoubtedly found that the continent’s architecture has plenty to offer.

If you find yourself traveling to this diverse continent, seek out these architectural styles!

Sudano-ahelian Architecture

This type of architecture is found in the West African Sahel regions, on the border between fertile, rainy areas and the Saharan desert. It’s characterized by mudbricks and adobe plaster, using natural materials, and looks positively fascinating.

Nubian Architecture

This ancient architectural style can be found in Egypt and Sudan and, in some cases, dates back many millennia. Builders at this time used the limited resources available to them to make amazing structures.

Swahili Architecture

The area of Southeast Africa, including Kenya and Tanzania, has always maintained close contact with other societies due to trading. This led to Arab and Asian architecture influencing this fascinating style.

Moroccan Riads

These traditional Moroccan houses contain a central open-air courtyard. They have multiple levels and usually feature a variety of striking colors and beautiful tiles.

Luanda, located on Angola’s coastline with the Atlantic Ocean is the capital and the largest city in this south-central African country. It is the world’s third most populous Portuguese-speaking city in the world. Luanda is known as a very expensive and luxurious city.
