Because there is a lot of poverty in the world, it’s really common for locals to target tourists to scam and steal from them, which is sad in and of itself. But, if you want to protect your money while you travel and during your travels, here are some great places to hide your money.
Lip Balm
Having a tube of lip balm in your pocket or purse is normal, but if you save your empty tubes, you have yourself a great money hiding spot! Just roll up the bill or bills tight, and stuff it into the tube.
Deodorant
An empty deodorant container is another brilliant way to hide your money, especially if you’re staying in a hostel or other shared accommodation. Whenever you finish the stick, just stuff as much money as you want in there and you won’t have to think about anything going through your toiletry bag while you’re away! You can also use this as a place to put your extra documents like passport copies.
Shoes
This is an old trick, but you can always hide money in your shoes! Just life up the sole and stick a few bills in there.
