Amazing museums are scattered all around Montreal, but did you know some of the very best are safely tucked away in one place? The “Space for Life” district is Canada’s largest natural sciences complex, and it’s home to some of Montreal’s top attractions, starting with these five.

Montreal Biosphere

Montreal Biosphere became a centerpiece of “Space for Life” thanks to its picture-perfect geodesic dome, and its exhibitions mostly explore environmental issues such as climate change and sustainability.

Montreal Biodome

Montreal Biodome is located in the heart of Montreal’s Olympic Park, and it’s home to imposing replicas of four ecosystems found in the Americas.

Montreal Planetarium

No natural sciences complex is complete without its own planetarium. The one in Montreal will win you over with its interactive exhibits on space and astronomy, including a 40-minute presentation about the Northern Lights called “Aurōrae”.

Montreal Botanical Garden

Montreal is home to one of the most impressive botanical gardens in all of Canada, which covers 190 acres. It’s home to 10 exhibition greenhouses and 20 thematic gardens and hosts over 22,000 species of plants.

Montreal Insectarium

If you’re in the mood to explore the endless diversity of the world of insects while in Montreal, you’ll be happy to learn this Canadian metropolis is home to one of the largest insectariums in the world.
