In-Flight Etiquette: Tips on Being a Better Passenger

Though we all love traveling, there are some parts of the process that are just frustrating. A flight can be among them, especially if it’s a long trip, if you have layovers, or your plane gets delayed. But if you pay attention to in-flight etiquette and try to be a better passenger, you’ll help yourself and all around you have a slightly better experience.

Be Polite

It may sound obvious, but remember to always be polite, especially with crew members. It’s not their fault some things didn’t go according to plan and there’s a much better chance they will respond to any issue you may have if you’re nice and courteous.

Check Your Luggage

Sometimes it’s tempting to carry a small suitcase in a cabin with you, but don’t do it if it’s too heavy. If you can’t lift your bag above your head and you want a flight attendant to do it for you, that’s just rude.

Listen to Instructions

No matter how many times you’ve been on a plane, it’s a good idea to listen to instructions you get from the flight crew – they are giving them to you for your safety.
