Charles Bridge is one of the most visited attractions in Prague and it’s almost impossible to visit it when it’s not over-crowded. Here’s what you have to do if you want to have some peace and quiet while checking it out, instead of being surrounded by hundreds of people.

Early Bird

Just like the majority of top attractions, Charles Bridge should be visited early in the morning if you want to be on your own. The merchants probably won’t be there until 9 am, so you can have a peaceful stroll with no tourist in sight.

Peak Hours

If you hate big crowds, avoid Charles Bridge between noon and 3 pm. Also try not to be there 5-10 minutes after the stroke of every hour, because it will be filled with tourist who headed to the bridge after checking out the Astronomical Clock.

Best Months

You should avoid peak season if you want to experience Charles Bridge and the rest of Prague in its full glory. Winter is pretty much the only time when the city doesn’t feel too touristy, but if you don’t like cold weather, go for September or October.
