How to Find Safe Accommodation During the Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic completely changed the way we approach travel, and short, local trips feel like the only safe option at the moment. Although such trips include an overnight stay, if camping and outdoors isn’t your cup of tea, you can use these tips to find safe accommodation.

Safety Measures

Both Booking.com and Airbnb are tagging properties taking extra health, sanitation, and safety measures with special labels. Look for “Enhanced Clean” or a similar label when looking for a place to stay, or check with the property if all the necessary protocols are in place.

Private Accommodation

The fewer people you come in contact with, the safer you’ll be and private accommodation is your best bet. Rent an entire apartment or a private room, and try avoiding dorm rooms unless you’ll be sharing it with people from your household.

Common Areas

If you’re sharing common areas, such as kitchen, bathroom, and lounge, with other guests, be extra careful and clean after yourself. Wear a mask in common areas and maintain social distancing if other guests are around, to keep yourself and everyone else safe.
