Flights are really expensive, but when you love to travel, it’s inevitable to spend lots of money on them. Even still, we’re always trying to find the cheapest tickets. One common known way to save money on tickets is to buy them well in advance. But is this true and how far in advance should you start looking at tickets?

Domestic Flights

Most airlines post domestic flights around 330 days before the departure date, according to CheapAir. But in general, the prices are usually higher when the tickets are first released, which means you should wait a bit before booking. The best time to book is four months to three weeks before the flight. As soon as you see a deal that looks good, get on it because prices will probably just go up.

International Flights

Like domestic flights, international ones are usually released around 330 days before departure. But unlike them, the prices are lowest when they’re first released. So for these, book them as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more you’ll pay. It’s pretty amazing how much of a price difference they can be when you book early. So, don’t sit on a good deal and start looking for flights as soon as you decide you want to travel.
