Here’s Why You Should Go Sailing Around the Greek Islands

Greece is the land of the Gods, and you definitely feel like you are in a godly place when you visit any of the islands. Each island is steeped in ancient history, and has archeological ruins scattered across them from the ancient Greek Empire. Usually, travelers fly or ferry between the islands and the mainland. The best way to see the islands you want is by chartering a sailboat, and here’s why.

Go at Your Own Pace

When you charter a boat, you can choose to have a skipper or you can sail the boat yourself (this is only if you’re an experienced sailor). You design your own itinerary, which means you choose the islands you want to stop at, and you can stay for as many days as you want. That means that if you don’t like the vibe at one island, you can just move on to the next one!

Total Seclusion

It can be fun to stay in a busy resort and enjoy the party atmosphere of the islands. But sometimes you just need to kick back and enjoy some quiet time. Diving off of the deck of your sailboat, lounging in a hammock with a good book, and sipping some ouzo in the galley is the way to do this.

The best part is that you can even just charter a sailboat for a couple of days, and have a nice mix of island time and boat time.
