If you want to tap into some serenity during your trip, you have to see the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees. This Buddhist temple is actually in the heart of the city, which really gives the whole place a tranquil vibe. The temple was built in 537 AD, and you’ll find that no matter how many visitors are there, it is really quiet, so make sure to stay respectful during your visit.

If you happen to be in Guangzhou with your family or just need a break from site seeing yourself, you have to head over to the Chimelong Tourist Resort, also known as Chimelong Paradise. This park is full of rides, a water park, an aquarium, and more! It’s the perfect place to chill out and really just have some fun.

If your idea of fun and escape is more in terms of nature, you can hike up the Baiyun Mountain and get some really stellar views of the city and the surrounding nature. If you want the views but not the soreness, there’s also a cable car that can take you up there.
