Mongolia is one of the world’s most interesting and little-known countries.

Located in Northeast Asia, sandwiched between China to the south and Siberia to the north, Mongolia is a place with a fascinating landscape and a culture that is very unique.

It also features plenty of natural landscapes to be photographed and explored, as it is the least-densely populated country on Earth.

Frederic Lagrange is a French travel photographer that spends much of his time photographing Mongolia. While he also spends some time photographing other places, much of his Instagram feed and photography work focuses on Mongolia.

One of Mongolia’s most unique biomes and terrains is the Gobi landscape. An arid steppe region, this cold desert climate provides life to animals such as marmots and the grazing livestock that nomadic herders roam the earth with.

Some of Mongolia’s landscapes might even surprise you. In the midst of all of the dryness that Mongolia has, beautiful alpine lakes are captured beautifully by Lagrange.

Mongolia has to be a challenging place to shoot. It looks more like the Moon than our own planet in many cases. If you’re interested in discovering more about this one-of-a-kind place, be sure to give @fredericlagrange a follow.
