Phuket is a genuine piece of paradise on Earth but if you want to do more than kick back on the beach, here are some essential attractions you can visit.

Big Buddha

In Phuket, a 45-meter-tall marble statue of Buddha stands to signify the Thai people’s devotion to Buddhism, the country’s primary religion.

The Elephant Sanctuary

If you would rather not ride an elephant in Thailand then good for you, the animals are cruelly abused to keep the practice going. If you’d rather get up close with elephants who are being rehabilitated and cared for, you might prefer to observe the elephants enjoying their new found freedom at Phuket’s elephant sanctuary instead.

Promthep Cape

Prompthep cape is one of the most rewarding view points in Phuket. It’s the perfect place to watch a sunset and it’s the kind of scene you see in those “win a holiday to Thailand” adverts that made you wish you were in Phuket to begin with.
