Modern architecture is one of Doha’s biggest strengths, and this city wouldn’t be the same without its amazing skyscrapers. If you ever find yourself in the capital of Qatar, you’ll be wowed by these buildings that shape its breathtaking skyline.
Aspire Tower
Aspire Tower currently holds the record as Doha’s highest skyscraper at 980 feet. It was built leading up to the Asian Games in 2006, and its design was meant to resemble a large torch. This tower is known by many nicknames, including Doha Olympic Tower, and it’s instantly recognizable thanks to its wire mesh design.
Tornado Tower
Tornado Tower isn’t one of Doha’s tallest buildings, but that’s not stopping it from being one of its most recognizable skyscrapers. As its name suggests, this building is meant to resemble a tornado emerging from the sea and it’s really amazing to see it light up at night.
Doha Tower
Another skyscraper that’s better known for its unique design than its height, Doha Tower is one of the symbols of the city. Commonly known as Burj Qatar, this building was meant to express the local culture and it perfectly fuses modern architecture with ancient Islamic designs.
