Switzerland is one of those countries that has endless views that would blow your mind. It’s hard to find an area that isn’t beautiful, save for the big cities where buildings have obstructed the wonderful mountains and trees in the distance (Zurich, for instance, is hardly the most naturally beautiful city in Switzerland). But if you’re short on time and looking for a recommendation of a landscape that you’ll never forget, here’s where you should go—hands down.
Harder Kulm, Interlaken Ost
One of the most beautiful areas in Switzerland is Interlaken. Interlaken is comprised of Interlaken West and Interlaken East (or Ost), and you really can’t go wrong with wherever you go in this area. In fact, Interlaken and its surrounding towns are so incredibly gorgeous that you’re better off looking at all of it at once—which is why visiting the Harder Kulm is a must.
The Harder Kulm is an elevated summit about 4,337 feet above sea level, where you can gaze across the entirety of Interlaken and all of its adjacent towns. It’s truly one of the majestic things you can see in your life, and you’ll have some great photos ops as well. To get there, you can easily ride a tram that takes you up there called the Harderbahn.
Oh, and the best part? There’s a restaurant at the top as well, where you can enjoy delicious Swiss fondue or drink a cold beer while enjoying the incredible view around you.
