France is home to hundreds of beautiful lakes, and the French really know how to enjoy them. All year long, they are on the lakes swimming, fishing, boating, and enjoying other activities in the water and around it. If you want to visit some of the French lakes but don’t know where to start, these three are among the most beautiful ones.

Lac de Gaube

Located in the French Pyrenees, Lac de Gaube can be accessed by walking trail or a chair lift. The lake lays at the foot of the Vignemale massif which is why it’s relatively inaccessible, but a trip to it is absolutely worth it.

Lac d’Antre

For anyone who loves wild nature and beautiful landscape, Lac d’Antre is the place to go. It’s located in the Sixt-Passy nature preserve and around it are the Fiz mountain peaks.

Lac Saint Guérin

In order to reach Lac Saint Guérin, you’ll need to cross a footbridge that hangs above it, so be ready for an adventure. It’s not possible to swim in this lake, but you can enjoy the landscape as you walk around the shore and trust us, the views are stunning.
