Can You Use Jet Lag to Your Advantage?

When we normally think of jet lag, we think of it in a negative connotation. This makes sense because jet lag at its worst can be one of the most uncomfortable things to go through. Switching major timezones can leave you feeling restless, unable to sleep, and just downright mopey, and that’s the last thing you want. But what if we told you that you can actually use jet lag to your advantage?

Resetting Your System

While jet lag can have you up at the weirdest hours, there’s actually a silver lining there if you choose to find it. You’re in a unique position to actually rewire your entire internal clock. For instance, if you’ve been trying to wake up earlier every day but have been struggling to do so, this jet-lag experience can be the very thing you were waiting for.

Lo and behold, you actually are up earlier in the morning—and although it’s only because of the jet lag, you can maintain that momentum when the jet lag starts to go away. As your body starts to get used to the timezone that you’re in, you can simply continue to wake up earlier, and it’ll be easier to do it because you’re in the flow of it.
